Rolling Stone Türkiye

Rollingstone_splash
Finally , Rolling Stone Magazine in Turkish! Yes there are too many music magazines in Turkey but they are far from being satisfactory. Rolling Stone Turkiye on the shelves with three different covers as a collectors' issue. We picked the one with Mor ve Otesi(our favorite alternative rock band from Turkey) on the cover. The magazine has exactly the same quality with the US version. Tons of interesting articles , interviews with the bands and breath-taking photos...
Rollingstone01 Well , while writing about photos and Mor ve Otesi , the lead singer of the group : Harun is really hot , he has a nice voice and a certain point of the view to the world we live in. We love their songs ; there are very few bands here that the lyrics and the melody match together perfectly and combining with the high musical levels of the members.Their latest album Buyuk Dusler just hit the market and one of the best selling alt. rock albums ever...

Army Beckons for Boys of the Bolshoi

Bolshoi_1

It survived the revolution. It shrugged off the Cold War defections of some of its biggest stars. It emerged unscathed from the Soviet repression of the performing arts.Yet Russian ballet today is facing perhaps the biggest threat of its 300-year history thanks to planned government legislation that would force young male dancers into the army for the first time. The move has prompted an unprecedented confrontation between the Kremlin and the country's most famous dance companies, the Bolshoi and the Kirov, who say that the bill will rob them of all their up-and-coming male dancers - forever.

The World's Gone Crazy!

Cartoonoutrage

The cartoons of Mohammed first appeared in Danish paper Jyllands-Posten in September. The paper said it had asked cartoonists to draw the pictures because the media was censoring itself over Muslim issues.
Islam forbids depictions of Mohammed and many Muslims were furious at the drawings, one of which shows the religious figure wearing a turban shaped like a bomb.
Some other European papers later published some of the cartoons, as a way of covering the controversy and also, some papers said, as a matter of freedom of expression
In Paris, France Soir -- a newspaper that published the cartoons -- was evacuated for nearly three hours Monday after receiving a bomb threat.
Two small weekly Jordanian newspapers also reprinted the cartoons and, according to Jordan's Petra News Agency, arrest warrants were issued for the editors-in-chief.
The Danish paper issued an apology in late January after weeks of quieter expressions of outrage and diplomatic efforts to avoid the widespread violence.
The Danish government says it does not control what is in the country's newspapers and that courts will determine whether the newspaper that originally published the cartoons is guilty of blasphemy.
The government has also expressed apologies for the offending drawings.

We're muslims and we live in a muslim country. The outrage is way too much and we're against all kind of rage and most of the radical muslim countries have too much fury , OK...but we think this is a contradiction...the rule is simple in islam : Islam forbids depictions of Mohammed so people should respect this rule...on the other hand there's something called " freedom of expression". There should be a balance between these two facts...

No,No,No !

Diesel_butt

Diesel Turkey and fashion magazines in Turkey refused to use some ad pictures which are included Diesel's 2005 Fall Campaign. The Ad Campaign's photos which are very brave and provocative are taken by a Turkish photographer Mert Ulas and his partner Marcus Piggott. The magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Cosmogirl, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Marie Claire, FHM and Madame Figaro refused to use either the photo with the hot butt or the hot butt with jeans without any restrictions from the government. At least they can use the one below (with some modifications) for some public service...LOL
